This is a SINGLE replacement Track Rod End Boot made from Polyurethane.

A common problem with Rubber Track Rod End Boots these days is perishing/cracking, Rubber doesn’t seem to be what it used to be.
Polyurethane will not perish/crack like normal Rubber so will give a much longer service life.

These boots are Double Convoluted which allows them to move/flex more without stretching.

We also have these to Fit A-Frame Ball Joints, please click HERE to see them

Fitting, see last gallery pictures, you can remove and refit the coil clips by either using a small screw driver to carefully wind the clip round the boot or use a zip tie to wind the coil clips round the boot.

Screwdriver :-
You need to carefully pick up one end of the larger coil clip using a small flat head screwdriver and then wind the clip round the original Rubber Boot to lift it out of its recess, your original coil clip can then be used to fit your new Poly Boot.
Fitment is the reverse, start by sitting one end of the coil clip in to the recess and then wind it round the Poly Boot until the coil clip fits back in to its recess.
Take care not to puncture the boot with the screwdriver.

Zip Tie :-
You need to carefully pick up one end of the larger coil clip using a small flat head screwdriver and then slip a small zip tie over the end of the clip, pull the zip tie to lift the clip out of its recess and wind it round and over the boot, your original coil clip can then be used to fit your new Poly Boot.
Fitment is the reverse, start by slipping the zip tie in to the coil clip, sit one end of the coil clip in to the recess and then pull the zip tie the opposite way to removal while winding round the boot until the clip sits back in to its recess. (Pull the zip tie towards the Track Rod End body)

We would recommend that you do not fit the smaller clip that your original Rubber Boot may be fitted with, leaving this clip off will allow old grease to squeeze out as new grease is pumped in, it will also stop the Boot swelling and popping off from over greasing.
Also the Boot needs to swivel over the track rod end shaft as your steering is turned lock to lock, so even if your track rod end is not a greasable type this will help stop the boot from twisting as the shaft turns with your steering.
When using these Poly Boots to replace the Rubber boot on a standard Defender Press In Ball Joint then you can refit the smaller clip, fit this to the boot before you fit it over the Ball Joint.
