This is a Genuine Land Rover 25mm front anti-roll bar, designed to reduce body roll and improve the handling and stability of your Defender.

An anti-roll bar helps control swaying motion and the amount of side-to-side movement when cornering, making the vehicle feel more planted and controlled. To improve the ride comfort of a Defender, softer-valved and softer rebound-valved shocks are fitted. These shock absorbers are less likely to overheat; however, they tend to increase body roll. When extra weight is added to the vehicle, such as a roof rack and roof tent, this also increases body movement on corners. Fitting a front anti-roll bar can help reduce this movement and improve the vehicle’s overall road manners.

Why Fit a Front Anti-Roll Bar?
  • Reduces body roll when cornering
  • Helps reduce side-to-side swaying
  • Improves handling and stability
  • Makes the vehicle feel more planted on the road
  • Particularly useful on heavier Defenders
  • Works well with softer-valved suspension setups

The front of a Defender generally has less articulation than the rear, which is why a front anti-roll bar can be a good compromise for vehicles where improved handling and reduced body roll are more important than maximum suspension flex.

We offer three different types of suspension kits, but an anti roll bar cannot be used with all three.
Challenge Suspension Kit
Our Challenge kit is designed to provide maximum articulation from a bolt-on suspension setup. Anti-roll bars cannot be used with this kit, as they would restrict the suspension flex the kit is designed to provide.
Explorer Suspension Kit
Our intermediate Explorer kit uses longer-travel shock absorbers than standard, but provides less articulation than the Challenge kit. A front anti-roll bar can be fitted with this kit when used with our anti-roll bar spacer, GL1275.
Adventurer Suspension Kit
Our Adventurer kit uses standard-travel shock absorbers and is compatible with both front and rear anti-roll bars. If your Defender is carrying additional weight and maximum articulation is not required, this setup can help reduce body roll and improve stability.
