OME 2764 Rear Springs, 30mm to 40mm lift

These are the lightest coil springs OME make for the rear. On a standard Defender 90, they will give a lift of around 30mm to 40mm, (330mm to 340mm Coil Height). These are a good, soft to medium spring to use if a big lift is not needed and are not carrying lots of extra weight. If the vehicle has extra weight, the springs will compress.

These springs are 39N/mm, this means for every 39kg added weight, the coil spring will compress by 10mm, this is for 1 coil spring only. On a car, you will divide by 2, so 10mm will become 5mm.

Here at Gwyn Lewis 4×4, we sell Old Man Emu Springs to match the shock absorbers for our Suspension kits.

We stock and sell a wide range of Old Man Emu springs to suit a vehicle’s needs. – Please see here for all Old Man Emu Springs – Spring Information

The spring holds the vehicle up, they determine your ride height, shocks travel and length determines your axle travel (articulation off road), longer shocks mean more axle movement.

Old Man Emu Springs were mainly designed for load carrying. This is how a suspension lift will be given, if Old Man Emu springs are used; however, from the wide range we can pick and choose springs to suit the vehicle’s weight and the customer’s preferred ride height.

Most Old Man Emu springs are handed. Place both springs on the floor, the tallest spring needs to be fitted to the heaviest side of the vehicle. On most vehicles, this is normally the driver’s side, however, if the vehicle has extra added weight to the passenger side, then you may need to fit the taller spring on the passenger side to level the vehicle out.

It is useful to know the vehicle’s current ride height to help determine which springs are needed. This is how you can measure your suspension lift the Gwyn Lewis 4×4 way.
