These are the HEAVIEST DUTY TRACK ROD ENDS to fit a Land Rover that I can find, please continue reading to know the reason why. Heavy Duty Track Rod Ends are mainly used by off road customers due to their strength and wider angle to help with axle articulation. They are fully greaseable to help prolong their life. These are less likely to break or bend as they have a 1/2 inch UNF thread on the tapered end with a 12mm undercut near the taper, most other track rod ends only have an M12 thread with a 9.5mm undercut. A nyloc nut is fitted on the tapered end which means checking and tightening the nut is made quicker after off roading. The main thread where it meets the ball joint body also has no undercut which makes them stronger. Inside these track rod ends they have a large nylon socket to cup the ball, this gives smoother movement and much less torque steer, however on impacts they can distort the nylon cup. Please note they will require greasing on fitment.

Fitment Guide:- Smear plenty of grease on all threads to stop them from seizing up in the steering bars, also these track rod ends will require painting if you don’t want them to rust.
Land Rover recommended torque setting for the nyloc nut is 40 to 45 NM.

These Track Rod Ends are fitted with Rubber Boots, we have Polyurethane Boots available as an optional extra that you can fit, please click HERE to see them.

We now have three different types of Track Rod Ends available. Please see below to help you decide which one will be better for you.
Which Track Rod End is right for you?

SUMO-RH-HD-TRE SUMO-LH-HD-TRE
These are our HEAVY DUTY Greaseable version, used mainly by off road customers due to their strength and wide angle to help with axle articulation. These are less likely to break or bend as they have a 1/2 inch UNF thread on the tapered end with less of an undercut near the taper, a Nylock Nut is fitted on the tapered end which means checking and tightening the nut is made quicker after off-roading. The main thread where it meets the ball joint body also has no undercut which makes them stronger. Inside these track rod ends they have a large nylon socket to cup the ball, this gives smoother movement and much less torque steer, however on impacts they can distort the nylon cup. Please note these are not painted and come with the original rubber boot fitted, they will require greasing on fitment.

SUMO-RH-DELPHI-TRE SUMO-LH-DELPHI-TRE
These are our DELPHI Greaseable version, used on and off-road. These are not just a standard Delphi joint, they are greaseable, come ready fitted with our GL1172 POLYBOOTS and are fully painted black. Inside these track rod ends they have a nylon socket to cup the ball, the ball is polished which gives much smoother movement with a lighter steering feel, the nylon cup will also give much less torque steer, however on impacts they can distort the nylon cup.

SUMO-RH-LEMFORDER-TRE SUMO-LH-LEMFORDER-TRE
These are our LEMFORDER Greaseable version, used mainly on road. These are not just a standard Lemforder joint, they are greaseable, fully pained in black and come ready fitted with our GL1172 POLYBOOTS and GL1045 Clip. The main difference with these joints is that they are internally spring loaded. They have a metal ball and a metal cup, the spring is constantly holding the cup onto the ball. Because of this, these joints can withstand impacts, such as potholes, as the spring compresses not causing damage inside unlike the nylon cup ones do. The only downside to these track rod ends is if the spring does become weak they can cause a bit of torque steer, they are greaseable, however, do not force grease into them as the ball is seated on the lower metal cup and only allows minimal grease to pass, they are pre-greased here which mean they may not need greasing on fitment.
