This is a Warn 8274 winch drum guard, they should be fitted to all 8274 winches to stop the rope coming off the drum and looping around the side plate, you will see many old 8274 winches with grooves around the side plate where the rope has come off at some time. If you have experienced this you will know it can be expensive to replace a broken side plate or the rope, especially plasma or dynema ropes, it also protects the radiator in the event of a broken winch rope.
This guard is also a good anti theft device as you can’t lift the winch out without removing the guard first.
This guard is made out of 3mm galvanized steel, it has 7 holes in the upper part to allow air to flow to the radiator, it bolts from underneath your winch tray with 3 bolts supplied, it is folded to the shape of the winch to be a snug fit.
