These rear spring re-locators were designed by me many years ago for our challenge suspension and for those that have extra-long shocks fitted. GL1065 are HEAVY DUTY made from 6mm mild steel and are galvanized to prolong life, (don’t be fooled by cheaper imitations). Re-locators are to guide the rear spring to its original position with minimal noise, however on extreme axle drop out the hook catches the last coil of the spring to stop the spring from coming past the re-locator, a re-locator cannot be made any longer otherwise it will hit the axle on full compression. The coil spring must be positioned properly to allow the hook to catch on the last full coil of the spring, not where the spring ends, where it doubles up. Jacking the vehicle up is quite simple by placing a round bar or a wheel brace through the spring and re-locator to minimise axle movement (to hold the spring up) when using a hi-lift jack.

When using Heavy Duty Rear springs, especially 110 and 130, the wire is very thick and can sometimes stick on the upper spring chassis mount and re-locator, it’s normally the end of the coil spring where the flat bit ends. To prevent this grind a bit off the spring to round it off, then the spring can slide in and out easily, with no noise.
Once fitted correctly there should be no noise when the spring is dislocating or re-locating.
